Welcome to our new site! We will hopefully be adding more content and gadgets as we get time but this is what we have for now. I won’t be blogging over at the Blogspot site anymore but all of the content from that blog has been moved over here if you want to go back and look at old posts.
Just wanted to write a quick update and get everybody up to speed on what’s been going on in our lives. After our evaluation with Mission Aviation Fellowship back in October, we have been prayerfully moving forward in the process with the organization. Marcos officially resigned from Tinker AFB where he has been working for the past 3 years. After a wonderful time with family and friends over the holidays, we had a whirlwind of a week leading up to Marcos’ last day at work on January 9th.
We are now going through some training with MAF in order to get a closer look at the programs that make up the organization. Marcos and I are in classes all day, while the kids stay with an MAF babysitter. We met with the candidate committee (the group we met with back in October) again today to discuss possible field assignments and give input as to where we feel the Lord leading us. Some of the other factors influencing our input were family/lifestyle preferences such as schooling options, outside ministry options, and what the role of the spouse looks like. We will get our official acceptance to the organization (Lord willing!) along with our regional assignment next week so stay tuned!
Since we have not technically joined MAF as of yet, these two weeks feel sort of like a free-fall. We let go of all of our security and took the plunge, trusting that God will catch us. This has already been a tremendous stretching and faith-building experience. We know this journey will have its ups and downs and we covet your prayers as we walk this road in faith.
I just want to end with this verse that has been on our hearts the past few days: “May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him.” Psalm 72:11
